This model is supposed to have the revised copper edition cooler from the Thicc II which is a much better albeit still not the best design, but on a 5700 it does the job decently, and there's headroom for over clocking and something else that really makes this card worth getting even at it's original $329 sale price. I bought this card to replace my RX 570 graphics card hoping I would get a major boost in performance. First off, this card is chunky, its takes up nearly three full slots and it's fairly long too, as a result the card sags a bit, but that happens to any large gpu. The big issue with the size is that it doesn't cool well for a three slot card, my memory temp peaked up to 96c, the other temps were suitable but again not great for its size.The best value for a 1440p and maybe any GPU now... period There isn't a single other GPU solution that can put out this much performance for the price and save easily $100 or more over other similar performing cards. Recommend booting this thing up with a single monitor on an HDMI cable on your first install and downloading the latest drivers directly on the AMD site.
Using MSI afterburner i have yet to see the temps rise above 60 degrees C, and im able to play all games tested so far at 1440p max detail 60+ fps.
I bought this gpu but ended up returning it. At $300 it easily beats a comparably priced 2060 and if you don't care about RTX or production (Radeon VII) then this really is the best deal for 1440p. I had to use an old version of Radeon Settings to access Wattman so I could force the fans to work at all, even then, the temp was far higher than I like it to be, idling, with fans, around 50c.
I have a reference card though so...A community for links to products that are on sale at various websites. I don't know for sure what's causing it to not work, all I know is it isn't working. Do be aware though that this almost certainly voids the warranty and even though the card has a dual BIOS that can be switched if anything did go wrong, there is still a tiny, tiny chance that you could turn your card into a brick. I don't feel like the fans are really any louder than previous card even under load but then again I always game with headphones for what it's worth.
