We want to hear what you have to say but need to verify your email. For my part, it was a reminder that sometimes second best is good enough. As a result, the aphorisms seem much less deserved: this film is not good enough to preach. Speaking critically, of course this film doesn't deserve a 10.

It's not what I would call an amazing film, or anything of the sort, but it was just a blast to watch and it was pretty much impeccably cast. As the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has only a single remaining vacancy, posing a rooming predicament for two fresh arrivals, Sonny Kapoor (Dev Patel) pursues his expansionist dream of opening a second hotel.

Not that I'm saying it was easy to make, considering the fact that making quality films is a difficult art form, it's just the fact that everything pretty much looks effortless.
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is the expansionist dream of Sonny Kapoor (Dev Patel), and it's making more claims on his time than he has available, considering his imminent marriage to the love of his life, Sunaina (Tina Desai).
Charming. Sure, it has the comfy vibe of the familiar, but it's all in feel-good fun. The British actors hold things together, adding charm, sparkle and mischief to a script that pales in comparison to the original. With Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel. The performances are all wonderful, which is no wonder considering the talent involved, but obviously, that's not enough.
