Royal Blood by Rona Sharon took me by surprise as I didn’t read much about the book before beginning it. Not only is the historical part of the book wonderful, it also has a bit of Paranormal. Not being a vampire addict like many of my reading friends (no disrespect IWell, first off I have to say this book delivered ALOT more than I thought it was going to.
to Oxford, England, and finally (!) At some points the book just drags with unnecessary dialogue or subplots, you end up waiting two long for the true drama to begin. There's only two..er..um..intimate scenes to survive, and at least they were admitedly *blush* pretty hot. I bought it because I was curious to read about a vampire prowling the Tudor court but at the same time I had concerns as to which cliches the authors would use. Where better to read a novel of Tudor England, than in England? This book was a great surprise for me. The book is unlike Rona Sharon's previous novels. Normally I do not get into historical romances as I thought this work would be.

And then it was on every page.Terrible,..again,...I thought this book will be better than her first,..but no,..I don't know why I love this book so much...it's not even remotely historically accurate (which usually bothers me) but I'm always immersed every time I read it. She is at the court on a mission of her own, one that is slowly revealed to the reader over time.

There are a lot of characters in this story too, but the story does spend most of the book focused on Renee and Michael. Second, from reading the description you would have no clue about a major factor in the plot of this book. What I have a problem with is when the fluff is being promoted as historical fiction and not for what it is - romance.I'm not going to go into plot detail on this review - enough others on Amazon have recapped it quite nicely. As you read Michael Devereaux’s story I had an inkling of what was to come but it was still a surprise when the secret was finally revealed. Please check your details. It meshes well with everything else. You must have patience and a lot of time on your haI had mixed feelings about this book, its either a political drama, a mystery or romantic novel.
