O'Donnell, Barbara moved back to her home town of Danvers to raise her boys. lives in Bridgeville with her son Eric, who studies in high school. However, Mrs. Carmody shows no fear of Ollie's threat, and predicts that the creatures in the Mist will claim another victim at night. The rest of her cult, realizing what they have done, breaks out of their brainwashed state and allow David's group to leave, though one member expresses grief over Mrs. Carmody's death and furiously accuses Ollie Weeks of being a heartless murderer.
When she learned that Eve Copeland was teaching sex education, Mrs. Carmody and other parents demanded Eve's dismissal, and every time she met her, she looked disgusted. Karmic Death: Mrs. Carmody's very well-deserved date with two revolver bullets near the end. Mrs. Carmody attempts to convince the other market patrons that the Mist is a divine punishment, but is stopped when she is hit her across the face and threatened by Ollie.
She even ordered her cult to sacrifice Private Jessup to the creatures outside. Cruel and Unusual Death: Mrs. Carmody is killed after receiving a brutal Jawbreaker from a creature hiding in the mist from out the mall, before being dragged away and presumably being killed afterwards.

This is more from a thematic standpoint, but I think it holds story-wise to a degree as well. Amanda initially tried to befriend Mrs. Carmody, but Mrs. Carmody spitefully turned her kindness down, saying that if she "wanted a friend like her, she would squat over and [poop] one out".
