I disagree. I really thought this book may be too "young" for me, but I truly don't feel that way after listening to it. He then realizes his destiny and dives into the volcano to retrieve the Ember. Now my kids want me to use all my audible credits for the rest of the books...dream on kiddos! All the while they're hatching a plan to learn how to fly, to save themselves and tell the owl kingdoms about the horrors of St. Aggie's. I totally recommend it for young readers who love adventure!Having read all 15 books in this series, out loud, at bedtime, I can offer the following insights. There, with the help of a herbalist, they escape to the great tree and tell Doc Finebeak to get ready for an ambush in the Middle Kingdom, which was to be led by Nyra. It very loosely follows the storyline of The Capture, The Journey and The Rescue. It's naturalistic for the most part--if you ignore the whole semi-armored owl thing.
Need another excuse to treat yourself to a new book this week? I imagine that I would have appreciated them even more if I were a kid. August 15th 2010 It very loosely follows the storyline of The Capture, The Journey and The Rescue. I highly recommend this series.I didn't know quite what to think when I started listening to this story about a little owl and his family. I unfortunately find that lacking in many children's books.
As with younger reader books--each book just felt like the part of a larger novel. Not only did I develop a love for them, so did my students.
