Most people wouldn't really care about that and certainly in this situation it has no negative connotations. It will instantly make everyday a "Great day to be alive"! Maybe the speaker beat cancer, won a lottery, or is high on stimulant drugs. @dennylv We do not know such details; it is just an example in a dictionary.
