Dangerous Beauty, while making certain assumptions and taking some literary license, was a talented translation of Rosenthal's careful research into a captivating film.
Because it is that amazing! He must have appeared in some 10 films this year and the year is only half way through.
I shall warn you that the film is neither as sexy as it may seem, nor is it nearly as well told as some may lead you to believe. Netflix just put Dangerous Beauty in its rotation as a new arrival. The actress' name is Catherine McCormack though.

Holy smokes, I couldn't put it down and now I'm counting the days until we get the second book in this series to see what the heck happens!

I loved their ridiculous banter.
Naz (AKA Barney for the Bad Habits series) is bad a$$ special ops guy that is doing his best to do the right thing. A good girl that falls in love with a "prince" (he's from a family with a title and she's not) but will true love prevail?
The confession speech could have been penned more fiery, though. And I'm glad that I made it till the very end.

Ms. McCormack seems to be molded from the same line of icy blond beauties that produced Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett. The medieaval Italians spent their time wheeling and dealing in a way that would put a Hollywood mogul to shame, and arranging marriages was part of the dealing. This is a three part series and yes, it ends on a huge cliffhanger but it's so worth it!

The Dangerous Beauty series is a spinoff of the Bad Habit series, where we first met Barney, personal bodyguard and former special ops military soldier, whose real name is Nasir or Naz. Surprisingly the most unbelievable aspect of the movie (her escape from the Inquisition and support from prominent Venetian nobles) is historical fact.
