An African-American conceptual artist, Kara Walker is best known for the wall-sized cut paper silhouettes. These vignettes that she creates illustrate the history of the American South exploring the racism.Drawing from various sources from historical novels to slave testimonials, Walker uses imagery of mammies, pickninnies, sambos and other racial stereotypes.
