Great documentary!
A very interesting documentary told though the eyes of 3 friends, about a fascinating man who spent his latter years in the beautiful city of Durham. Its outstanding, funny and educational in a little big way. Set in and around the beautiful city of Durham a group of mates set about documenting the story of The Little Count one of Durham's historical characters. Both book and film are about Joseph Boruwlaski, a supposed Polish count who grew to be only 99cm tall, and died in the English cathedral city of Durham in 1837, at the age of 97. Three friends set about the history of the little count in great depth funny and very interesting in a beautiful city a must not to be missed. This film was described to me as a documentary about Durham history, which it is, but it is so much more. The Little Stitcher sostiene l'ambiente e invita ognuno a fare lo stesso. We sat down to watch this as a family hoping to find out a little more about the Count's House that we walk/run past on a regular basis. 2 out of 2 found this helpful. Lovely bit of story telling from two lads that obviously have a very close friendship - and a real passion for Durham City. 4 out of 4 found this helpful. I love the thread of mystery running through the story, and it was entertaining to watch the guys' efforts to get as much info about the Little Count as they could without using the internet! A gentle but humorous film documenting a group of friends' research into a little Durham legend.
A tune dedicated by an 18th /19th centuary Polish, musician who settled in Durham. I grew up hearing stories about the count and still learned a lot more from this . As I'm not from Durham myself and I don't know either the story or the filmmakers, I was looking forward to seeing this.

It sounded really interesting and unique! We also need a village to help us get through both cancer and life! Sometimes there's stuff on your doorstep you just don't know about!

In a city like Durham history is everywhere yet these guys unearth a hidden gem of a story! 4 out of 4 found this helpful. A wry, humorous look at the history of a building on the banks of the Wear with the help of four friends - discovering it by stages and with some help here and there its a great way to lounge back and enjoy Durham and discover a bit more in its history. Well done and looking forward to your next project.
